India is now permitting armed guards on its shipping craft as a first step towards self defense. This is a nation that has traditionally not permitted weapon ownership of any kind for private citizens, yet Obama is in the process of illegalizing new forms of firearms and making criminals out of law abiding citizens. It is a sad day for this nation when we cannot recognize the basic human right of self defense when many other nations have realized their errors and are moving towards that goal.
In view of the piracy attempts on merchant vessels, the Directorate-General of Shipping will soon issue a notification allowing armed security guards on board Indian merchant vessels .
